They found out that the cannabinoids are able to depress seizures by activating CB1 receptors present in the areas of the brain related to memory and also in patients’ nervous system.

Limitations to the Use of CBD Oil

Opponents of the use of cannabis oil claim that the oil might contain high levels of THC, the component responsible for the “high” associated with cannabis. Most states and countries are thus, restricting the use of this substance. It’s only Canada and a few states in the US that have the substance legal though for medical purposes only. Even in these areas, treatment using CBD oil for epilepsy is only allowed for intractable epilepsy only. This is a situation in which the patient has failed to respond to all other forms of medication. All in all, progress is being made to have cannabis oil legal in other parts of the world thanks to studies that have shown its positive effects.
